It's true we're not gonna get city run groceries, platform doors, or cops in every subway station. However ONE of those goals is almost definitely still going to be used as justification for giving another big budget increase to ONE city agency. Guess which one!

torontos not building or opening grocery stores btw lol they asked for a staff report on feasibility of city-run grocery and “broader food security and affordable measures” - ie they are going to get a stack of paper delivered to them in Q4 2027 then… maybe do something (or not)

I think something people are really afraid to acknowledge is that hotness is not equally democratically available to everyone. Everyone can get hotter but not everyone can get HOT in a way that is broadly legible and doesn’t cost an exorbitant amount and also drive them insane
