As I reflect on Good Friday, I’m saddened at how bad Jesus was tortured and persecuted. Here are some things Jesus endured: 1. The Agony in the Garden (Psychological and Physical) Hematidrosis: Under extreme mental stress, Jesus suffered from a rare phenomenon called hematidrosis, where sweat mixes with blood and pours from the body. This resulted in extreme dehydration and fatigue before physical torture began. 2. The Scourging at the Pillar ("The Half-Death") The Instrument: Roman soldiers used a flagrum or flagellum, a whip with multiple leather thongs embedded with iron balls and sharp bones, designed to tear skin and rip muscle. The Damage: Jesus was tied to a low pillar and beaten repeatedly. my faith indicates he was scourged by four or more men, resulting in "bloody, mangled ribbons of flesh". St. Faustina’s visions note that in some places his flesh fell off, exposing bare bones. Internal Trauma: The whipping was so severe it caused massive blood loss, severe dehydration, and fluid buildup around the lungs, leading to a state of near-death, or "half-death". 3. The Crowning with Thorns (Psychological and Physical) The Crown: Soldiers constructed a crown from thorny branches (likely the Jerusalem thorn bush, with thorns up to 3 inches long). The Torture: The crown was forced into his scalp. According to tradition, this caused more pain than all other wounds, as it severely irritated major nerves in the head. Blunt Force Trauma: Soldiers used a rod to batter the crown into his head, causing the thorns to penetrate deep into the skull. Mockery: They knelt before him, spitting on him, slapping him, and mocking him as "King of the Jews". 4. The Carrying of the Cross (Via Dolorosa) Lacerated Back: Jesus was forced to carry the heavy wood of the cross. The rough wood rubbed directly against his severely lacerated back and torn muscles. Physical Weakness: Due to shock, loss of blood, and exhaustion, Jesus suffered immense difficulty carrying the cross, resulting in multiple falls, which caused further blunt trauma. 5. The Crucifixion and Death Nailing to the Cross: Nails 5-8 inches long were driven into his wrists, tearing the median nerve, which causes "severe, excruciating, burning pain, like lightning bolts traversing the arm". Position of Asphyxiation: To breathe, Jesus had to push up on his nailed feet to allow his lungs to exhale, forcing his mangled back against the rough wood of the cross. Deep Wound to the Side: After three hours, when he was already dead, a soldier pierced his side with a spear, letting out blood and water, indicating severe pericardial effusion (fluid around the heart). 6. Spiritual and Emotional Suffering Betrayal and Abandonment: Beyond physical pain, my Catholic faith emphasizes the "immense sorrow" caused by the betrayal of Judas, the denial of Peter, and the abandonment by his apostles. "Wound in the Heart": St. Jerome and other saints emphasized that the psychological trauma of seeing his mother, Mary, suffer while watching the torture was an integral part of his suffering, as she was the "Queen of Martyrs". He did all of this for our salvation. Only through Him can we enter the Kingdom of Heaven. In my prayers, I thank God for giving us His only Son. He changed the world and my life. I’m a sinner. I’m an imperfect Catholic. But I’m trying to do better each day. I pray many see and understand this sacrifice and come back home to Christianity. Those who are with the faith, I pray this deepens your love for Jesus Christ. It certainly has mine. God Bless. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him may not perish but may have eternal life.” John 3:16 #Catholicism #Catholic #Christianity #GoodFriday #Lent #LentenSeason #TheSorrowfulMystery

Something to consider on Good Friday: Jesus of Nazareth underwent Jewish and Roman trials, was flogged, and was sentenced to death by crucifixion. The scourging produced deep stripelike lacerations and appreciable blood loss, and it probably set the stage for hypovolemic shock, as evidenced by the fact that Jesus was too weakened to carry the crossbar (patibulum) to Golgotha. At the site of crucifixion, his wrists were nailed to the patibulum and, after the patibulum was lifted onto the upright post (stipes), his feet were nailed to the stipes. The major pathophysiologic effect of crucifixion was an interference with normal respirations. Accordingly death resulted primarily from hypovolemic shock and exhaustion asphyxia. Jesus’ death was ensured by the thrust of a soldier’s spear into his side. Modern medical interpretation of the historical evidence indicate that Jesus was dead when taken down from the cross. Let us pray... Lord, by shedding his blood for us, your Son, Jesus Christ, established the paschal mystery. In your goodness, make us holy and watch over us always. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen. ewtn.com/catholicism/re…

Here is what I asked in Spaces 3 days ago. Everyone disagreed and said this will never be acceptable to US/Israel: “If Iran is allowed to charge a toll to ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz while US/Israel keep bombing, do markets still have a problem?” cc: @trentkelp @wabuffo @everytimeicash @FinEconGlobal

$SPX : Map before open Line below(green) is shift with $VIX down(re-adjust slighly after open). Observe the "slope". To the left, increases fast <5650 and <5600. Right goes down to 5810(20) and then Starts slowly creep up again. MM influence. Steeper= Sell pressure☝️ Down= Buy pressure Not financial advice.
