Thrilled to share our work on E. faecalis in infective endocarditis! We reveal how loss of Fsr QS drives biofilm growth, antibiotic tolerance, and immune evasion in vivo—linking Fsr-deficient strains to prolonged bacteremia in endocarditis patients.

Getting the spiderwebs out to excitedly share our new work @KimInGeneva lab. We studied how Enterococci use lactic acid to suppress the inflammatory response and promote virulence. biorxiv.org/content/10.110… It is now under review, stay tuned for a revised version when published.=)

Enterococcus faecalis, recognized as an extracellular pathogen, also has an intracellular lifestyle. This #MMBR review summarizes how the bacterium adheres to, enters & survives within host cells, & highlights the need for further mechanistic studies. asm.social/24H
