@NZNationalParty Eliminating the daily minimum power charge would help everyone. It's purely wasted money.

We’re putting solar panels on up to 500 schools to help lower power bills. On average, that will be $8,000 a year saved for schools, so they can put that money back into teaching our kids brilliantly.

@matt_horncastle A pension is a terrible return on taxpayers investment. It should be allowed to be self managed with the corresponding reduction in tax paid. (You won’t acknowledge this as you never engage to your own tweets, it’s very odd).

A pension is a benefit for old people. You voting for a government that left us $292b in debt. Your pension is paid by the current work force. It is not an entitlement from your past taxes… you consumed that with your votes and more. Let’s just face reality. It’s ugly… But it is what it is.

Good afternoon everyone, some good news to kick off June. From today, your local pharmacist can assess and treat an expanded range of common conditions, particularly for children. This means you can go straight to your pharmacy for advice and treatment for things like head lice, conjunctivitis, scabies, and pain and fever, without needing a GP prescription. Before this change, families either had to pay full over-the-counter costs for these treatments or visit a GP to get a prescription. That often meant extra time, cost, and waiting for a GP appointment, which can be frustrating – especially when you're trying to get timely care for your kids. Now you can get that care at your pharmacy instead, faster and at a lower cost. Pharmacists are trusted, accessible healthcare providers and are often the first place people go for advice, especially in rural areas where getting a GP appointment quickly isn't always easy. It makes sense to let them do more so that Kiwis get the right care at the right time, close to home.

@JosephMooneyMP Compliance cost for everything is out of control. We are not enjoying the current government meddling with everything and making everything slower and more expensive and more uncertain.

I know from my life experience that you need the conditions for entrepreneurs to take the necessary risks to build great businesses that improve other people’s lives in some way (which is how they grow their product or service category), which in turn creates great well-paying employment opportunities, that in turn enables people to put food on the table for their kids.

@franks_lawyer Easy to leverage into property as an investment. Is probably the main one. Just got to choose a desirable location. (But agree, many other good investments to be made).

Very rough for Blue Origin. Like I said though, this firmly cements $RKLB as the #2 commercial launcher (if that was ever a question), and gives them a chance to leapfrog BO with Neutron later this year. BO likely won’t launch again for a long time after this. $ASTS is down.

Based on a handful of sources, this is what I've been able to glean about the New Glenn failure this evening in Florida. TL;DR, it's freaking bad. arstechnica.com/space/2026/05/…

Actual truth is NZ is increasingly celebrated internationally as an example of planning reform - started by National in 2016, continued by Labour and now going forward again under this government - working. In two decades of often poor public policy we should celebrate this.
