It was really a simple answer as to what motivated/pushed Rainy to last as long as she did back then.
“I have to always be at the top of my game. It was never an excuse to stop. Sleet was sure to drill that into my head. Perfection was alway demanded of me.
When he was arrested by the Galactic Patrol, it gave me plenty of time to get stronger while he sat in prison. I knew he wouldn’t stay in there forever, Sleet was always a clever one. It was also a time of reflection for me. Looking back on my whole life. Being bought by him as a young girl, sold by my own mother, meeting my childhood best friends and how I became this person who I never thought I could be.”
She paused, realizing she’d said a mouthful.
“I wouldn’t change it for anything. Everything happens for a reason.”
Rainy shut the water off and open the shower door. She grabbed the towel and wrapped it around her body, then making her way out into the bedroom area.

Hearing what it was meant that he wouldn’t fuss or refuse to eat it! If anything he did the opposite! Eagerly letting her spoon feed it to him, and then he simply shrugged. It was ok, he’d eat it again but he wouldn’t throw a tantrum if he didn’t get it!

— she tilted her head to the side.
"New clothes? Ohhhh -- you so you wanna go on a shopping spree, ya?"
— her features lit up. Rainy LOVED clothes shopping. it was an obsession of hers, hence all the clothes in her conveyor belt of a closet! if he or anyone else ever saw it, they'd probably freak out or tell her to stop spending so much damn money.

He looked confused, being unable to read so he had no idea what he was looking at! So he looks somewhat skeptically up at Rainy, cooing his uncertainty about what it was. Though he would try it, she’d just have to tell him what it was first!

— once the food arrived, Rainy readied herself to eat. she placed the napkin on her lap and picked up her fork, about to taste the delicious food. before she could place the fork to her mouth, she heard Kawaki’s comment about how his friends hated him. the Princess couldn’t help but raise a brow in question.
“Hate you? Why would your own friends hate you, Kawaki?”

The water ran down her hair and down her back. The Rubian closed her eyes, taking to all in. She could remember training in that room as a child like it was yesterday.
“I did what I could to keep my sanity. Being alone in there was very rough, especially being isolated like that for so long. The loneliness gets to you after the third or fourth day in, never mind months and months.”
Rainy took some of the water and sprinkled it over her face, giving herself a refresher. She heard Okura’s concerns of the staying here for a prolonged period of time. She was right, but she didn’t want to end anything early if she couldn’t help it.
“We’ll do what we can. I promise we won’t kill ourselves in here. I have a son I need to get home to, as well as Sleet and my friends. I also want to help you against the Riftmaker. We’re going to be fine, Okura. I know it.”
