@Runninrails @ChristOverChaos @Brian_Sauve It's not me you need to explain yourself to. I don't care what your "spiritual" reasoning is to insult a person for their viewpoints. And , frankly, it doesn't matter what the motivations are for defending such an insult. It's juvenile and not Christ-like at all. PERIOD

It's always the same playbook: 1) Christians interested in recovering the political theory of our Christian forefathers from much saner times are "young, angry, lonely men." 2) The answer is to target this "young, angry, lonely men" with more theology discussions. Robust ones, of course. In reality, the Christian Nationalists I know are wonderful fathers with happy wives, lots of kids, good businesses, who probably know much more theology than this guy by a lot. A good number of them are in their mid-30s to 50s. As if such men will be mollified by more empty doctrinal talk! That's exactly the thing we're sick of—mere talk about theology from people with a totalizing instinct of suspicion for robust application of any of that doctrine to real life. No thanks. And especially no thanks if these anti-CN theologizers can't even control what goes into their mouths, by the way.

How should pastors fight wild eyed Christian nationalism? #christian #theology #christiannationalism

@CarriAnneLaffs @ChristOverChaos @Brian_Sauve As such, I find a lack of fitness to be a character flaw in men. Not to say they need to be athletic, but they shouldn't be neglectful of their physical capabilities. At my most obese, I wasn't qualified to issue guidance to men.

You think Jesus is happy when we're fat? You think he made you that way? Fun fact, I'm 218 pounds. I was 289 pounds in 2020. I felt utterly shameful about myself. My lack of discipline shaped my behaviors in every aspect of my life. I was a worse father, husband, and Christian because of my mentality at that point in life. Love is not a tone of voice, its truth telling.

Hate to break it to you, but intelligence was around long before homo sapien sapiens. We were evolved through random genetic and epigenetic changes, along with selective breeding, over many millions of years and inherited intelligence from our predecessors. The chemical process is continuing, but the chemistry involved is starting to include more Silicon and other dopant elements like Phosphorus, Arsenic, Boron, Gallium and Indium, etc. This is just a continued evolutionary process. Your argument is like we are not actually intelligent because we could never match the intelligence of homo heidelbergensis. And we didn't birth machines. Like all animals and plants, we are machines too, evolved from physics and the subset of chemistry (and a further subset of biochemistry). This is just the universe refining itself.

@Runninrails @ChristOverChaos @Brian_Sauve Noticing and insulting are two different things and you know that... but if you can't refute the point , you guys resort to juvenile name calling. You're def not leading anyone towards God that way. I'm embarrassed of you.

@DeanLentini @Brian_Sauve This is like when the state issued a tax assessment on my businesses revenue, and the burden was on me to prove their lie wasn't true. Prove you didn't do the thing we admit we can't find. Cool cool.

@Brian_Sauve To be fair, it’s hard to keep your actual story (not the one you contrived) straight. Between the deleting all your past online personas and trading in your denominational card for whichever one will give you a bigger online presence each year. It’s a lot to keep track of.

For context, I engage with Brad regularly. He's highly involved in my community, as am I. By all accounts he's a good guy. We are polar opposites ideologically and that's ok. I do however expect well reasoned, substantive ideas and planning if you want to represent me. In that regard he's lacking.

@Runninrails Is that the same Brad Magg that started a catering business as a high schooler?
