Pope Leo XIV held a worldwide summit for exorcists to discuss and address the growing threat of “Satanism” and “Occultism.”
Fr. Chad Ripperger recently addressed the concern on Shawn Ryan’s podcast, indicating a concerted effort by the Church to combat evil.

@Shanayasinghsm @ANI Right to life actually means the opposite. It means nobody has the right to take your life, no matter how difficult it gets. This is horrible.
English

@ANI right to die should be important as right to live
am sure majority prefers dignity over longevity
if u cant live ur life and alive just to suffer thats not life
times are changing ,good !

@BishopBarron I’m pretty sure Jesus had a thing or 5 to say the exact opposite direction.

A message from Dr. John Bergsma to all who contributed to the GoFundMe for care of his son Francis:
On behalf of my wife Dawn and all of our family, we would like to express the deepest, heartfelt gratitude to all who contributed to the GoFundMe for our son Francis X. Bergsma.
As you know, Francis passed from this life to be with Jesus, the Blessed Mother, and all the Saints at 5pm on Friday, Feb. 28, 2026. He had survived almost twenty months from his diagnosis with Diffuse Midline Glioma (DMG) on July 19, 2024. This is significantly longer than the average for this condition and the predictions we were given. For this we are grateful to God.
We are also grateful for the great blessing that Francis, for the duration of his condition, retained clarity of mind and the ability to speak—things not all brain cancer patients enjoy. Up to the last few weeks of his life, Francis was still enjoying a pleasant daily routine of prayers, exercise, medication, good food, naps, Japanese study, pleasure reading, and watching funny videos with his siblings.
In the last twelve days of his life, Francis rapidly became weak and paralyzed, sleeping much of the day and waking only with great difficulty. But even then, there were patches of lucidity for a few hours here and there, which were a great blessing.
We didn’t talk with Francis explicitly about death very much, largely because we were hoping and working for healing, and did not want to adopt a pessimistic attitude. Nonetheless, when his breathing became labored on Saturday morning, Feb. 28, it was clear it was his time. The entire family—parents and all siblings, nephews, and niece, all gathered around him at our home. I (John) told him, “Look, you are going on to be with Jesus soon. The rest of us will follow and will join you there, sooner than you think. It won’t be long.” He focused for a moment and gathered his strength to gasp out, “Okay!” That was his last word. He slipped out of consciousness and his oxygen levels started to decline. As his breaths got farther and farther apart, we prayed the Mystery of the Coronation over him, asking the Blessed Mother to receive him in heaven. Within about twenty minutes, she did. At almost exactly 5 pm, he breathed his last, surrounded by his entire family who were at his bedside.
While Francis was on this journey, many wrote or emailed us with suggestions for different therapies to try. We took all these suggestions seriously and investigated as many as we were able. We did, in fact, make aggressive use of dozens of therapeutics and therapeutic strategies during the course of his disease, many of which were very expensive and time-consuming to administer. We tried everything we could. Even at the end, we were working frantically to obtain different cutting-edge therapies on a “compassionate use” basis. Unfortunately, nothing we tried could stop the cancer. Given his long survival, it is likely that several things helped, but nothing could reverse his progression. If we could replay the past twenty months, there are things we would do differently given what we have learned on this journey, but as they say, “Experience is a comb you get after you have lost your hair.” There may be those who ask, “Did they try this? Did they try that?” More than likely, the answer is Yes, we did.
Francis was a beautiful soul. He was docile and courageous at the same time. He rarely or never complained. Whatever we asked of him, whether it was special diets, undergoing procedures, swallowing unpleasant medicine, getting pricked and poked with needles, he cooperated without complaint. It pains me greatly that, even though he complied with everything we asked of him, we were unable ultimately to save his life. But he was a beautiful soul. He had a strong and regular habit of prayer, including daily mental prayer, Scripture reading, and the rosary. He received confession almost weekly, and we brought him communion every Sunday.

Everyone: John Bergsma’s such a good Catholic scholar!
Me: *reads John Bergsma’s “how the Bible made me Catholic” book*
Bergsma: I realized John 6 says communion is more than symbolic! Therefore Protestantism deboonked!
Can I expect Scott Hahn’s “Home Sweet Rome” to be any different? Should I bother?

@TaylorLoy AMEN! God bless the The Episcopal Church, long may it live!

@redeemed_zoomer @JM_Database Genuine question, RZ: If your presbyters have succession back to the apostles, wouldn’t this line of succession inevitably lead back to a Latin bishop?
English

@JM_Database Presbyterians are Apostolic, and our Presbyters have succession back to the Apostles
