@RyanJaquith
Well, I’m Ryan. I’m from Michigan…and I like sports. And that’s it. Like a savings bond, I took 30 years to mature. Former “writer.”

@Colton_Hill I’m not saying we should trade Larkin necessarily, nor am I saying your Yashin/Yzerman is bad, but is comparing when Stevie won his first cup to Larkin only making the playoffs once in 10-11 years really the same argument?
English

The Larkin talks of trading him away seems awfully similar to the Steve Yzerman for Alexei Yashin back in the day of 1995/1996.
Makes no sense at all.
Yzerman did not win his first Stanley Cup till he was 32 years.

@RedCedarRebel Carr’s in the portal if you tell him he’s gonna be 3rd off the bench at two positions. This is an unserious post.

@Chris_Coyle_21 @GottliebShow Of course, it was more a rhetorical question

@_trash_void @kawhi_ring I think there’s a massive difference between a drunk driver barely over the .08 (not saying they shouldn’t be punished) and a guy blowing a .16 and driving like 150 mph while that drunk, no?
English

@kawhi_ring people who want super harsh penalties for DUI are being performative
sure, if you’re on your 5th DUI then you probably need prison to learn your lesson, but catching a DUI once after having a couple drinks (bc it’s not hard to get over .08) shouldn’t ruin your life lol
English

He was driving his Corvette 156 miles an hour down a residential street, hit a woman and she burned alive with her dog, screaming for help as her dog barked in agony. 3 years in prison
Why isn’t a DUI alone 5 years in prison? Everyone has access to Uber and Lyft now. Murder/Manslaughter should be life (80+ years) in prison. Would prevent so much crime

Henry Ruggs is eligible for parole in August. He is only 27 years old. Should he try to make a NFL comeback?

@itmeolliev @RealDanZak This year? Not that I have seen, no. My guess Barkley is speaking from an “over the years” type of criticism Izzo has received.
English

@itmeolliev @RealDanZak It’s around this time most years a national writer seems to clutch their pearls when they see Izzo’s style of coaching
English

@RealDanZak I mean this sincerely, who was saying “why is he yelling at his players?”
English

@JimCosta_ 1 and 4 are locked, 2 and 3 I’d say are debatable.

When everyone is winning it’s
1. Lions
2. Tigers
3. Wings
4. Pistons

I need examples of a US city with at least three pro sports teams where the NHL team is top two in fandom in the city. Boys here said Detroit, DC and Tampa. I think I’ll give them DC and Tampa, but contest Detroit. Some guys said Minnesota, I think Twins are bigger than Wild.
English

@Emoryguy @recruits_cfb Wasn’t there a clause too about bringing shame/embarassment to the university as well. Seems even in a consensual relationship, this would fit, to me
English

@RyanJaquith @recruits_cfb Not inappropriate unless they can get the court to buy in on the idea she was his subordinate. Why Sherrone’s was inappropriate because she was his subordinate and he didn’t report it. Also. It sure if the phone calls would be enough for a romantic relationship.

BREAKING: Former Michigan State head coach Mel Tucker is asking a federal judge to rule that he was wrongfully terminated from MSU. He is asking for more than $80 million, per the Lansing State Journal.
Tucker was fired by MSU in September of 2023 following an investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct. Tucker has been accused of making sexual comments about Brenda Tracy and masturbating while on the phone with her.
MSU conducted their own internal investigation into the matter, and formally issued their decision after an appeal from Tucker claiming their investigation was a “sham” and discriminated against him as a Black man.
An Ingham County Circuit Judge recently ruled that Tucker’s conversations with Brenda Tracy were consensual. Tucker is now asking a federal judge to consider this in his pursuit of damages for wrongful termination.
Two years before his firing, Tucker signed a 10-year, $95 million contract, placing him towards the top of the sport in coaches salaries.
Already a lot of controversy and more to come. Tucker appears to be alleging that this was made up so that MSU could get out of paying him his contract.

@Riley_Gaines_ Did you tweet this same thing when GOP members didn’t attend Biden’s or Obama’s SOTU’s?
English

@FoulBa8er @gwizzy12 It’s strange. Loved watching the recaps with Cart and Greg and then all of a sudden it seems Greg took on the role of being a troll who nitpicks and has to find ways to say like, “MSU won but…” anywhere he could. Now when people call out his new “schtick” he plays victim
