Nice to get back under the A-Star for some fixed line CDFL recertification. Different muscle memory than hoist, but comes back easily.

@ShawnElizabet15 @JonFraserTF @CTVNews Oh? And who gets to make the call on who “intentionally” puts themselves in risk, and where the level of unacceptable “risk” is set? The experts? Cause the experts unanimously say no charges in all circumstances.

Did @CTVNews not take enough of a pounding last week over the story of a foreign visitor without health insurance facing huge medical bills? I'll say it again - Canadians should not be responsible for the hospital bills of foreign visitors who are too irresponsible to obtain travel insurance. This one is particularly egregious as he was participating in a high risk activity. ctvnews.ca/vancouver/arti…

@ShawnElizabet15 @JonFraserTF @CTVNews On a serrated but related point, North Shore Rescue (to use a prominent example) is called out to search for more dementia/Alzheimers walk-away than out of bounds skiers/snowboarders. You want to charge/fine the elderly too?

@ShawnElizabet15 @JonFraserTF @CTVNews Under $19M, 7 years ago? Ok and…? Outdoor recreation tourism contributes almost $5 billion to BC’s economy. If SAR was paid not volunteer like it is, estimates are it would cost $50M/year.

It's concerning the RCMP doesn't appear to understand vehicle driving assist features and what is "legal" and not.
Drive Tesla 🇨🇦@DriveTeslaca

The @BCRCMP and @BCHwyPatrol press release is factually incorrect, and the false information is being shared by mainstream media @CP24 @CTVNews. In the press release Corporal Michael McLaughlin says "some electric vehicles have self-driving mode, but those systems are not legal to use in BC." This is not true. Tesla vehicles have Level 2 driver-assist software, which require driver attention at all times - this is still legal in B.C. What is illegal in B.C. is Level 3 and higher autonomous systems. As of April 5, 2024, the Motor Vehicle Act prohibits the use of Level 3, 4, and 5 self-driving vehicles on public roads, or even having a vehicle equipped with this capability, unless authorized by the province.
