I’m sure there will be mixed opinions but I’m disappointed with the decision to change the 32 heats across 3 nights to 28 heats and 2 nights.

@TheOracleBen @SALACRES When did you want them to make the decision Ben before they knew the entry total? You often call for common sense and now it's been shown you're still not happy. Sometimes people don't get everything all their own way but that doesn't mean it's an incorrect decision.

In this day and age where many owners and trainers like many in the country are under financial pressure making the first round derby card over two nights not three makes sense. On many occasions trainers and owners have been asked to make arduous journeys over two and even three nights. Reducing this possibility can only been good on welfare grounds to those involved and financially to those involved it makes sense.

@SALACRES @TheOracleBen Is doing so without difficulties for some? Probably not but isn't it great to see trainers and kennel staff being thought of for a change and not being away from home any longer than necessary. Well done to those involved in using common sense 👏

@SALACRES @TheOracleBen Absolutely Peter. No way the track or anybody could have known the possibility of being able to stage over two nights until the low final entry this week. Once they did running over two nights not three makes absolute sense and will save many owners and trainers hours in travel.

@animalkind_aus Greyhounds are sight hounds they are bred to chase not just run. Preventing them from doing what nature intended would be cruelty in itself. Greyhounds love the thrill of the chase that racing provides them with.
