🌍🩺 The International Society of Nephrology (ISN) welcomes the UN’s renewed commitment to tackling noncommunicable diseases and mental health. 🔹Kidney health is mentioned three times in the political declaration, a historic milestone aligning with the recent WHO global resolution on kidney health. 🔹 Kidney disease affects 1 in 10 people globally, however, it is still not prioritized alongside cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, and chronic respiratory disease in the political declaration — a missed opportunity for millions. 💬 ISN President Marcello Tonelli: “The explicit inclusion of kidney health is a historic milestone… The declaration gives us a powerful mandate to translate words into action — ensuring investment, policy change, and better outcomes for people living with kidney disease worldwide.” With the adoption of the Kidney Health Resolution at the 78th World Health Assembly #WHA78, we’ve reached a historic milestone. However, true impact comes from turning global commitments into action. 👉 Learn more: lite.spr.ly/6002OH6M #HLM4 #UNGA #UNGA80 #KidneyHealthMatters
