Why is it that the moisture limit for wheat in Victoria is 12.5 and in other states you can deliver with a higher moisture content?

@astewart75611 It’s been frustrating. With a bit of luck we will beat the next front on the weekend

Wheat tested 15.6% moisture at 3pm today. Might get going by Tuesday 🤦‍♂️. Certainly been a challenging harvest.

@holmes_damien Yes, nothing like the sound of unforecast rain on the roof at 6 in the morning during harvest 🤦‍♂️

We are so lucky to have a climate change app developed by the BOM to make sure we can remain resilient into the future. Rain today is only about 12 hours earlier than predicted. Within the margin of error for one day outlook I guess. My fault for not shutting silo lids.

What is it with merinos? Why won’t they move up the road and go though gates? I think I would of had the XBs in the yard and drafted by now 🤦‍♂️

@Agworld spent all afternoon trying to enter harvest records. It records farm average wheat prices on ALL paddocks. Can’t work out how to enter individual $/t for individual paddocks.🙅‍♂️😡 Has anyone found a better platform for paddock records?

@timmort_ Can’t wait until they breed the bloody wool off them. The cost, time and effort around shearing and crutching time dose my head in. And we only have a few of them. Would have more if we didn’t have to shear

100%. The cost to shear a composite ewe (~$8-10) is still easily offset by superior genetics when it comes to repro and growth of their offspring IMO. May change with lots of effort going into breeding and selection of shedding sheep.

@PenolaStation Xbs still make more $ than shedders if they are good sheep

We have been been caught with a “wet drought” on some new country. Looking forward to dipping the toe into raised bed cropping next year. 🤞
