Great idea. 1) add a new, risky setpiece event to an election campaign when you are c20 points ahead in the polls 2) elevate an opponent you disagree with *more* than the Tory party 3) in a format he is seasoned at and you are mediocre at. What's not to love?

Usually these things are just noise - and probably will be - but if Starmer really wants a Tory wipeout, he should definitely take up the invitation. Making the race Labour vs Farage hugely benefits both of them as it squeezes the Tories out further.
