Detroit is the poster child for what happens to a metropolis when you turn to Socialism. Capitalism built it from NOTHING to the richest city in the world by 1950. Government regulations and collective bargaining caused GM/Ford/Chrysler to struggle and ultimately lose to Japanese and German competitors. If government socialism and socialism in labor stayed out of it, Detroit would still be the most prosperous city in the world.

If capitalism reduces poverty, why does Detroit look like this?
