@ToniSmalloni @MissLalaVT Gamers seems to be biased. They like the game so much that it apparently doesn't have any issues. If vibes and familiarity is great for you then sure in your eyes it's gonna be an 8 or 9.

It’s fine if game doesn’t resonate with you- video games are interactive, immersive art and the experiences they offer are subjective to the player. However, being pretentious about your film noir taste and being upset that you didn’t play “Chinatown” featuring Mice is kinda wild. The game is a satirical love letter to classic film and animation- and I’ve already had people express curiosity about the references as I play through it. A game that inspires people to research media and expose themselves to entertainment history is SO important for the long term health of media literacy. And it’s clear the devs did the homework and studied the genre- they just want to have fun with it, which according to this reviewer is GASP! Not allowed. Unfair reviews like this stop game studios from further developing other similar projects. Reviews like this dissuade people from playing and investing in it. It’s irresponsible, because it’ll kill unique experiences in favor of upholding paid review slop. Shame on you, IGN. I want new ideas on the game market. I want exciting aesthetics and art styles that are inspiring to spend time in. I want the new generation of gamers to be exposed to different ways of storytelling. So, go play Mouse PI for Hire. Look at the reviews of all the gamers who are LOVING it. Because it’s that gouda 🧀❤️

That reviewer was talking about ludonarrative dissonance when the game is very clearly trying to lean into the cartoon vibes more than the noir vibes. And you can see that in the advertising too

@MissLalaVT gamers harp on about how games should be seen as an art form until it comes time for critiquing them and then suddenly they are just silly things you play apparently. yeah man how dare IGN assume the game taking every aesthetic from noir films was going to be a noir game.

Just got Koumei after trying her out in duviri, and apparently you can't choose what decree you want so it's kinda random on what you are gonna get... And there's only a single augment mod for her that doesn't fix this lol.
