@Buchi_theone @FantasyWorldW1 Yes. Aerys murdered Ned's brother and father and ordered Jon Arryn to send the heads of Ned and Robert, but the rebellion was all a lie because, uh, Bran the Moron said so.

The U.S. has asked Poland to send one of its Patriot missile batteries to the Middle East, but Warsaw says no. Defense Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz: “Our Patriot batteries… are used to protect Polish skies and NATO’s eastern flank… we have no plans to relocate them anywhere.”

@EvasoreMaltese @9mmballpoint What are you talking about, a ton of people hated the fights and choreography. Thirty minutes of mindless dancing with a stick is not interesting.

@9mmballpoint People didn't dislike the fights and coreography. Even the haters agreed that it was the one good things about these movies. The third movie was more liked in general because it was less childish. The issue is that a few cool scenes don't redeem all the other bad parts

@notjame5 @scottyDunham3 @9mmballpoint George Lucas literally hated this himself and said they were extremely limited with the technology. Exactly why the prequels look they way they do is cause it’s his vision and he was able to do it with the technology at the time

There is a massive hole clearly in the Russian air defences layers north of Ukraine headed towards the Baltic Sea, 4 days in a row Ukraine has been able to conduct massive drone strikes in a row.

BREAKING: Another oil tank just exploded in the Russian Baltic Sea port of Ust-Luga after Ukraine launched a devastating drone swarm attack against the port’s oil export terminal for a second day in a row. Ust-Luga is next to Finland but is an easy target for long-range drones

There were many people who were very confident that Russia would make mincemeat of Ukraine either rapidly or eventually. Those who said “rapidly” were proven wrong long ago, in some cases embarrassingly. But now events are coming for the “eventually” crowd too. And I hope the embarrassment is even more acute.

@Landseaandtext @visegrad24 That's the very first thing Russia tried. They failed. Now there is nothing they can do about it, unless if they stop their actual aggression (the invasion of Ukraine).

@visegrad24 Russia has to understand that they simply have to regime-change Kiev. Nothing else helps. They have a constant aggressor who can do harm with low-level weapons.

@IndianFur @vilcinsky Median income even adjusted for inflation is much higher. Yes, many have always struggled, but most are better off vs 20 years ago. I should say US citizens, not everyone. Immigrants who have not naturalized have certainly lost rights under Trump, and that is a good example.

@SamuelBeaks @vilcinsky I do agree with you on that, however, it doesn’t seem to line up with how much inflation has made prices worse, and how people can’t even afford rent or food despite somehow having more income I beg to differ, look at how even writing a Palestine op ed can get students arrested

@IndianFur @vilcinsky Median income is definitely an important metric. Being able to afford more things makes life better. But also other metrics, like crime, have improved. And absent something crazy like threatening to do a terrorist attack, there is no limit to what people can say about Israel/etc.

@SamuelBeaks @vilcinsky Well sure you can criticize countries, but not too far otherwise you’ll get in trouble. I do agree life has gotten better in China, but i struggle to see where the US has improved? It’s consistently gotten worse since the 90s, median income is not a good metric of improvement

@IndianFur @vilcinsky I don't use a VPN and don't want to have to use one, nor do I like having speech restricted in that manner. You absolutely can criticize any country you want. And life has in fact gotten vastly better in both the US and China. Real median income is significantly higher than ever.

@SamuelBeaks @vilcinsky Sure but you can legit do that in China too yes? They don’t ban VPNs nor do they try to. Also, you can’t really criticize your government anymore especially over a certain country, and fair elections don’t matter too much when your life progressively has gotten worse over time

@IndianFur @vilcinsky I named war as one of my major issues with the US. That's a good reason to pick China, which has almost entirely avoided war, not Russia, which is even more involved in war crimes at the moment than the US.

@SamuelBeaks @vilcinsky For how much the west rants on about human rights and democracy, it upholds none of those principles to itself and instead just uses it as a way to attack everyone else. The west routinely violates international law and does war crimes, yet I never see the same outcry about it.

@IndianFur @vilcinsky I like to be able to go to any website I want, criticize the government, vote in a fair election, etc. There can be benefits to authoritarian systems when they are competent (less crime, etc.), but Russia overwhelmingly does not have those advantages, while China does.

@SamuelBeaks @vilcinsky Who says what is free and what isn’t? Western countries. They set the standard and impose it upon the rest of the world. It’s more geopolitical than anything actually about freedom, it’s the same orientalist stereotypes and western superiority complex in the modern era.

@Jfrdydtdht @8MTwagq5CLCDO5I @vilcinsky Russia is less clean and less technologically advanced than both, and getting worse. It is also actively involved in a genocide against their "brothers", which they can't even competently enact, having hundreds of thousands of young Russians killed in the attempt. So, yes, sure.

@hypervisor133 @TomasZdechovsky And if 1.8 million Ukrainian deaths was all over the news, you would be able to post that instead of having to flounder like this. Sadly, you lied about it, likely as a cope mechanism. I am sorry about the deaths, but pretending it isn't happening isn't going to change it.

In just 5 days, Ukraine has eliminated more than 7,000 Russian soldiers. These are massive losses — the kind no army can sustain without consequences. This is what real resistance looks like. Slava Ukraini 🇺🇦
