@TheCryptoCPA For sure. It will be interesting to see how these forms and regs evolve. One thing is certain - The worst layout/format for 1099DA forms so far is Coinbase.

@TheCryptoCPA I would say it's correct in about 85% of cases for anyone trading, buying, or selling crypto. What % of people using cointracker do you expect to have covered cost basis on a 1099-DA? It's essentially only covered if you never move your assets off of that exchange.

@TheCryptoCPA So overall, these exchanges are never going to report 1099DA basis to the IRS bc it is incomplete and/or wrong. The only thing they will ever report in 2025 and future years will be proceeds.
