Dear Uncle Femi, It has become important that we talk about how the Nigeria Movie Industry has become a significant part of the Nigeria Entertainment Industry. We cannot ignore how Yoruba actors are the main face of the Industry and how these actors have continued to push Yoruba culture to people in diaspora. Over decades, we have seen how movies have shaped the perspective of people about certain topics, people and Nation. This is a proof that the Agenda setting of theory of communication is not an illusion but a reality that we all can see. With the production of movies like Eran Iya Oshogbo, Koto Aye, Abeni Agbon among others, we have seen how these movies shaped the perspective of people on different names, animals and even persons. E.g Iya gbonkan. To brag a bit, it is important that you and your colleagues know that more than 70% of people who watches your movies are Yorubas and that should reflect in your movies through the production. We have seen how great movie directors and producers like baba Tunde Kelani and co, directed and produced movies like Saworode, Agogo ewo, Toluwanile and many others without pandering to anyone and it is evident how these movies have passed the test of time. We cannot keep ignoring the denigration of Yoruba women, misrepresentation of our historical facts, pandering to people whom we had no history with until the amalgamation in your movies. The way you tell the stories resonates in the mind of people and lingers for a very long time. There would forever be backlashes when your stories and roles are not properly aligned with the realities. I urge that you dive deeper into our histories to ensure that Nollywood historical movies are not produced base on conjectures and fables. Denigration of Yoruba women in all kind of movies, historical and contemporaries need to stop. Thank you. Yours sincerely.

I'm sorry this is wrong. There are a lot of our stuff that has been plundered but this is not one of them. These shell huts are located in Lower Grosvenor Gardens, near Victoria Station in London. And they are not from Ilé-Ifè. They were built in 1952 as part of a post-war redesign of the gardens. The architect is a French designer Jean-Charles Moreux. The videographer made a wrong assumption.
🇨🇦 Ademola🇨🇭@Alkaneseries

This video reveals at least two Ile-Aje plundered from Ile-Ife, now sitting pristine in the UK preserved, protected, and revered. They branded our spirituality as "evil" and demonized our deities to strip the land of its sacred power. Yet, they archived and enshrined these same artifacts as "heritage" in their own institutions.

@203020v1 @eakinola23 @cent_haysmall Oh so the Yorubas were right then. They’ve always been the ones pushing for “One Nigeria” and coexisting with different tribes peacefully but enough is enough. There’s no “One Nigeria” anywhere!

@TheHN1C I have always maintained my stand, I grew up with this people, and I will tell you nothing like there are good or bad ibos, all ibos have the same character and attitude, whether born in Nigeria or outside Nigeria, an ibo man with PHd will always think like someone selling gala.

@Missgeey_ @chibuicke @fineurl9128 I know that’s your reality, the “imagination” and “lies” is where you emerged from. Yorubas don’t do that because they have the culture, history, traditions, every single thing has meaning in the Yoruba tribe unlike the Igbos, now shift back.

@chirikimmy @AsakyGRN Look at how you described yourself in those first few sentences. Well, that’s your problem, not mine. My points still stands unchanged, unbothered, and unmoved. Now go and type your long epistle, send it to your ancestors. They might have the patience. Lol.

A Nigerian streamer was live in the UK with his friend when a lady asked them for £10. After revealing she was from South Africa, the streamer’s friend became upset, took back the £10, and said he would never help a South African because of how Nigerians and other African countries faces xenophobic treatment in South Africa.

@chirikimmy @AsakyGRN Tears already? 😏 This is just the starter. When Igbos did theirs, it was comedy. The Yorubas pushed back just once in the lives and you're crying? You crossed boundaries, hold your tribesmen accountable and stop blaming the Yorubas. For every action, there are consequences.

@Tves500 @Ovbiedo_ “Influenced from the Sahel" doesn't mean "owned by the Sahel." Pizza was influenced from Italy. Doesn't mean New York didn't make its own damn thing Oghosa.

The same Yoruba people who took the Nupe headpiece and renamed it gele? Everybody knows that much of what is called Yoruba culture today is an appropriation of different cultures. Agbada = Hausa/Fulani Gele = Nupe Ogun = Edo Olokun = Edo Omo = Edo
OG Beeper|| aka MJ’s baby@og_beeping101

Fun fact: both are of Yoruba origin. What we know as Edo bridal attire today is classic Ife empire women attire. It is now Edo bridal attire cos Ife influenced Benin heavily and till today, Benin runs on Ife civilization.

@iyiolalekan6 @papichulo4224 @yoruba_firstt1 No be this lie our forefathers pass down to us. Some times, instead of being strategic, you do need to step up and set boundaries! You really think if the case were reversed, they’ll be strategic?? Absolutely not!

@papichulo4224 @yoruba_firstt1 Whatever you want to gain with this insult is dead on arrival. The issue here is that a lot of people like you underestimate Ibadan people on many fronts without taking time to know them via their history. Winning in life does not come with noise making but strategy. Wait&see
