@RealMattFradd Matt 5:22 —“Whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of judgment.” Matt 5:44 “Love your enemies… bless those who curse you.” Matt 7:1–3 “Judge not… first remove the plank from your own eye.” Matt 7:12 “Do to others as you would have them do to you.” Do better.

1. Study the difference between marriage as sealing. Also read Helens book where she describes it and endorses the practice. 2. He sealed himself to men too. And families. Framing matters here. You either are ok with polygamy from Abraham and Joseph or you reject both. You are either ok with prophets stumbling through new doctrines (aka prophetic infalliblity) or you reject all of them. 3. He didn’t want to do it. And the actual historical data here is scant. A mixture of mistakes, conjectures, and unknowable history. What we know is Emma loved Joseph to her dying breath and Joseph loved Emma only. 4. This is entirely unrelated to the first 3. And there is a lot of ink written on it. But ultimately it’s the same question. Are prophets humans with agency or puppets? Can prophets only exercise the will of God? To me there are far bigger ramifications for humanity if agency is not free. It’s reasonable to have any of these issues give you pause. Most of the historians who study these very topics at the greatest depth do not walk away from their faith. It’s usually the people who study it the least, assume the worst, and rely more on the philosophies of men more than divine wisdom who are the ones unable to reconcile things like this.

I have an honest question for my Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint followers, intended with genuine respect. I've been studying early church history, including the church's own Gospel Topics Essays — and I'd love your perspective. How do you personally reconcile the following about Joseph Smith? And has it ever challenged your faith? 1. Married Helen Mar Kimball at 14 (he was 37) 2. Sealed himself to 11 women already married to living husbands 3. Concealed polygamy from Emma and the public (asked plural wives to keep it secret) 4. Ordered the destruction of the Nauvoo Expositor, the press about to expose it all These aren't anti-Mormon talking points — the church itself acknowledges them. I'm genuinely curious and appreciate all sincere responses. 🙏

@pmarca A really great example of how every smart person that exists are only smart in a few areas and often at the expense of being very, very dumb in others. Nobel disease 🫱🏻‍🫲🏼 Dunning-Keuger

I played too much sim city as a kid. It broke me. So last weekend I decided I’d use Claude code to make my own city. I started posting and friends asked to have their own characters/buildings added. We are now at 70+ citizens and a few custom buildings. Including a working track & field as well as functional basketball court.
