I hear the whole plan was to use the lists to make digital IDs for a sovereign Alberta. They wanted to have them ready for day 1. The app was all a test.

At the heart of the separatist data breach scandal is an app developed for use by Trump’s MAGA movement. The separatists admit that Albertans are the “Guinea Pigs” for this new tool. It’s time for us, as Albertans, to rise up in anger against Trump’s interference in our province!

This is likely the greatest crisis: many Albertans (with over-weighted votes) simply don’t know the Facts.
They’re passive news consumers who aren’t typically motivated to seek out reliable news sources and/or otherwise critically examine the journalism that is available.

That data—the full names, addresses, and phone numbers of almost 3 million voting age Albertans—circulated for at least a month in the Maple MAGAsphere, but has almost certainly been captured by state based authoritarian adversaries including Russia, China, and the United States.
This poses a massive public safety risk and exposes the October 19th referendum process to profound levels of foreign interference from the global far right. Alberta is completely exposed. All of our elections data is in the far right wind.

So if understand this: my leaked voter info could be used by some random person to put my name and fake signature on a pro-separatist petition and I’d never know? Or even if I found out I couldn’t have it removed?

WOW!!!!! With concerns growing that the separatists could have used the electors lists to potentially falsify thousands or hundreds of thousand of signatures... Even if people request it, the UCP's changes to the law prevent EA from investigating... Or removing those names.

Given this reality, the separatist petition needs to be invalidated. And the blame for this falls on separatist organizers themselves. It’s not “lawfare” as they claim. It’s consequences for their own actions. They cheated and got caught. Invalidation is the only fair remedy.

This is damning. Basically, the government told Elections Alberta that they couldn’t open an investigation into a complaint unless the complainant had presented them with their own “substantially completed” investigation. What’s the point of an investigation, then? Mind boggling.

.@ElectionsAB has done nothing wrong. Political parties and MLAs have access to the list of electors. This leak didn’t happen from Elections Alberta. It appear that a political party leaked it.
Government of Alberta limited Elections Alberta’s investigative and oversight powers.

Jason Kenney eliminated the office of the Elections Commissioner, a body that investigated election fraud and monitored use of lists of electors, to stop an investigation of UCP.
