@JasonFitz1 Just make every age group the same percent change instead of weeding out the best runners. I feel bad for women because once biological men realize they have no chance of qualifying as a male they're get in off "non binary". In 2024 there's nothing you can do to stop it.

@JasonFitz1 I (29 year old male) now have to run a 2:55 marathon instead of 3 hours which is a 2.86 % change. A 29 year old "non binary" person now has to run a 3:25 marathon instead of a 3:30 marathon, which is a 2.43% change.

The Boston Marathon is the closest thing to a real sporting competition that the adult marathon scene offers. It’s like college cross country - except for marathons. It’s like the national championship of marathoning. No, you don’t get in just because you’ve never been. National championships don’t practice inclusivity (they proudly practice exclusivity). It doesn’t matter if you’ve already been 6 times. You earned it. It’s not “time to let somebody else have a spot” unless they outran you. This is 100% the correct approach. It favors merit and objective performance - just like any championship race that you have to qualify for. I’m appalled at misguided amateurs who want every marathon to be a celebration of effort. I reject that. Sometimes - SOMETIMES - we must celebrate performance. And that’s ok.
