On Friday 15th, is the second reading of the resentencing of IPPs in the House of Lords. There is no justification for this not to go through and finally correct this longstanding torture for those still serving it and their families so they can be free to live their lives.

Going to an IPP license termination party this evening. I know it's only a small win, but I'll take it for now after the last few years of working on it. Also it will make those 1800 peoples lives much better. Next, get them all out of prison, then reparations. ✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿 #IPPscandal

As I type this, approx 1800 IPP licences have now been terminated. Although this is a big moment for some of us, we still all must support the movement to have every single IPP left in the system released.

"Work through their sentence" @JamesTCobbler? They have 'worked through' their original sentence tariff years ago, in some cases decades. You are arbitrarily keeping them locked up in prison. That is a crime that will catch up with you and the whole ministry. #IPPscandal

@ServingIpp My letter arrived this morning. Those who qualify for licence termination on 1st November have now started our last week of this nightmare. However, I would be prepared to continue my licence in exchange for other IPPs to be released and given the chance to prove themselves

So did all 1800 other #ipps get this same generic bit of paper?

No official termination paperwork not even a dotted line to sign just read this an off u go... Was it that easy after all? 🤬 #joke

This labour government is bloody dragging their feet bringing in this IPP amendment ain't they!? Set the date already, end my bloody licence & the bloody anxiety of being on it everyday. Give myself & my family some peace.

Prison doesn't prevent people from causing crime. Just ask the staff & other inmates who have been abused, robbed, raped or killed. Our current system is simply an institute to prefect your crime, not a place for rehabilitation & learning a better way.

@AferditaSa G4S fiddle data daily to keep hold of their contracts. For eg only pick people for drug test who will provide negatives when they have hit the limit. Tbf hmp do the same hmp highpoint stopped drug test for almost a year so they didn't lose c cat status

G4S clearly do not have the competence to run HMP Parc and should hand it back to MOJ.
