Jackson Lacombe is awesome, but this vs Draisaitl was an incredible "Welcome to the NHL playoffs" moment. With Carlsson on his back, one hand on his stick and nowhere to go, a motivated Draisaitl just skill-trains his way inside Lacombe, leading to the Oilers winner.

the Draisaitl entry here may be one of the best plays of the game. this line was a real standout for Edmonton, up 2-0 in scoring + 71% xG (per NST) thank to some really strong two-way play

Dickinson is way better at playing a shutdown checking third line centre role and Dach is way better at playing as a bottom six crash and bang winger.

The expanded defensive role Bouchard has taken on as a penalty killer, puck retriever, and in-zone disruptive player (blocking passes especially) has been well-documented. Also tilts the ice with transition passing and in-zone offensive play. All that balances the brain farts IMO

- won his 6th career Art Ross, tying him for second all time

Connor McDavid: just the 2nd player in the last 100 seasons to score a point in every team win (41) for a playoff team. Wayne was the other in 80-81. The 14 games he didn't score a point, the Oilers went 0-12-2. MVP.

Take the voting element out of NHL awards, make them stat based and remove bias. Add a proper trophy for best defensive D and offensive D.
Even for Hart or the Selke, there has to be stat calculations that could make sense and would make sure the most deserving players win.
