@KrisztinaMaria In much of Northern Europe, belief in God is treated as irrational, while belief in “the universe” is seen as enlightened. That contradiction is rarely examined. Faith in Christ is not an escape from responsibility. It is a confrontation with it.

In Denmark, many people will see you as crazy, cult-like, or superstitious if you say out loud that you believe in God. If you also say that you go to church, you are quickly placed in a box as either naive, backward, or even dangerous. So let me say it out LOUD - and explain what is actually going on God is the definition of spirituality. Today, it is often wrapped in New Age spirituality (which no one, by the way, mocks) that pretends to offer depth but in practice moves away from responsibility. Belief in “the universe,” energy, manifestation…in other words, belief in creation, while refusing to acknowledge the Creator and the creative force behind it. That is embracing the effect while denying the cause. It is comfort spirituality. No Father. No authority. No truth that stands above the individual. Just something vague you can lean on when it feels good….and put aside again when it becomes demanding. It is convenient. Because the universe makes no demands. It calls for no repentance, sets no boundaries, and does not challenge the ego. God does. That is why He is pushed away. At the same time, we are witnessing a dangerous blending of concepts. Religion, faith, ideology, and power are thrown into the same pot, and again and again we hear that Christianity in the Western world “is no better than Islam.” That all religion is equally problematic. That is not true. Christianity was reformed. Western Christianity was stripped of coercion, worldly power, and religious domination. The majority do not live by the Old Testament, but by the New. By Christ. We do not live for conquest, but in surrender. Not coercion, but love. Not control over others, but responsibility for ourselves. Christianity looks inward before it looks outward. It demands conscience, not blind obedience. Truth, not fear. It does not promise power…it places limits on power. And no, this is not submission in the modern, political sense. It is a voluntary surrender to something greater than oneself. Something that does not flatter the ego, but shapes character. And there is no greater personal development over a lifetime than learning to understand, interpret, and align oneself with something that stands above oneself….not to become smaller, but to become more fully human.
