I’m guessing the plan for that LB area over the next 2/2.5 years is: Udogie the starter as long as he’s fit. That’s obvious, and Robertson can provide good/decent back up to him in that period. Souza is 19, will need time to develop and be Prem ready and I think Robertson will provide a great mentor for him (and Udogie) and potentially open the door to a European loan for Souza this summer to develop. By the time Robertson’s two years are done, Souza is 21 and will likely be ready to make the jump. Maybe sooner. Does it make more sense signing Robertson and Souza than signing a top quality LB that can come in a compete/start now? No, and that’s on Tottenham and the board’s incompetency. But it’s certainly better than what we’ve been dealing with in that area for the past 2/3 years, and could end up being a really good thing….
