between this and the holdo maneuver i feel like i need to sit down and talk to movie writers about military tactics. if you're going to introduce a "clever" maneuver to win a battle, you need to have a reason it wouldn't ordinarily work, or at least a reason nobody's thought of it before. and the answer probably shouldn't be "it's super dangerous" because war is already very dangerous. if a tactic works, people are going to use it. plus in any sort of modern or sci-fi setting, anything a ship with a crew can do can probably be copied by a specialized design that pilots itself or is piloted remotely. actual "clever" maneuvers on the battlefield are more likely to be opportunistic. a commander notices an unusual situation and improvises an unexpected solution. or you make use of local knowledge the other side doesn't have. or you read the terrain better and end up in a favorable battlefield position. or you notice a mistake the enemy made and exploit it ruthlessly. but in order for the maneuver to be cool, you need to explain why it isn't normally possible. otherwise you just make one side look sort of dumb for not seeing it coming.

On these past 2 days, ive seen people do braindead comparissions like this, but one that really got me was a guy comparing toby fox to fucking hideo kojima about translations, THE hideo kojima, the guy with a million connections and his own AAA studio

@TodoRevolving You had nothing to say in defense of terraria's translation (and terraria doesn't have nearly as much lore or wordplay to get wrong as undertale) and as for Hollow Knight, I've not heard anything negative about the base game but Silksong was basically Russian Roulette

@cithiel_ If localizing it wouldn't be as hard as Toby makes it out to be, why isn't there a Spanish fan translation that makes no claims at being 100% accurate? Toby doesn't have to feel responsible for it (as long as the latam players don't get weird about treating it as canon)

I genuinely don't blame Toby for rarely interacting with the community because you could be as clear, polite and genuine as possible explaining completely understandable things to your community and still get shit like this dismissing literally all of it

@xaviersonline_ I mean, I don't have the money to hire someone who specializes in translating games, books, or comics, but year dud, of course it would be a shame. I only use a spell-check translator, to be honest. (And Even the fail, deam i wish i had a desent translation)
