There’s something funny happening right now… This morning I posted on various different local Facebook groups across Essex about councils, how they’re run, and the upcoming local elections — and suddenly, councillors started replying. Not one… but several. Now maybe that’s a coincidence… Or maybe it’s because elections are coming. Because here’s the reality I hear every single day: ➡️ “My councillor never replies.” ➡️ “They’ve never knocked on my door.” ➡️ “My councillor doesn’t answer correspondence.” Last week I was out knocking doors — and 6 out of 20 people told me I was the first person to ever knock. Some of those people have lived there for over 20 years. Let that sink in. So if you suddenly hear from your councillor… If they suddenly start replying… If they suddenly turn up on your doorstep… Ask yourself — why now? They should be worried about losing their seats.
