We started the year at @MidasRWA with an intense one-week workshop in the Austrian Alps. 2025 was a breakout year for Midas, in which we delivered a series of innovative onchain investment products that peaked at nearly $2 billion TVL. Building on the momentum, we used the week to bring together financial, product, legal, and technical teams to align on the next stage of Midas’ growth. Spending time with the team in the mountains sets a high bar - literally and metaphorically - for what comes next. Moments like these put everything into perspective: the past years at Midas have been an incredible journey and I am proud to build with an exceptional team - making unforgettable memories on and off the slopes along the way.

Historical Background Of The Crypto Bullrun Cycle: If there's one word that has dominated the crypto sphere over the past couple of months, "bullrun" is that word. Even if you are living under the rocks, it must have forcefully infiltrated into your ears by now. You have to pardon we crypto bros for all the bullrun noise. But trust me, it is worth all the hypes. And I will tell you why shortly..... Just to make sure we are all on same page, let's review what the crypto bullrun cycle is all about and why it is such a big deal for every player in the crypto space. The crypto bullrun is characterised by one major event - The Bitcoin Halving. And this happens every four years. The creator of Bitcoin designed it as a deflationary asset and to maintain this, every four years, the reward for Bitcoin miners is reduced by half. This reduction in rewards limits/slows down the supply of Bitcoin and following the simple law of economics, when supply is reduced and there's still growing demand, price increases. Let me use a simple analogy to explain this concept better.... Imagine you are a local farmer and just harvested some yams from your farm and you need labourers to help you carry the yams to the market to sell off. The first day, you agreed to pay the the labourers N1000 for each tuber of yam they carry. The next day, you reduced their pay from N1000 to N500 for each tuber of yam they carry. The third day, you further reduced the N500 to N250 and it kept on going that way. As the labourers' paycheck reduces, naturally, the rate at which the yam is been supplied to the market will be reduced. And since you are the only supplier of that particular type of yam and there's still growing demand for it, as the supply slows down, scarcity will set in and the price will increase. This is exactly what plays out between Bitcoin miners and Bitcoin. The Bitcoin miners gets rewarded (paid) with Bitcoin for validating and adding transactions to the Bitcoin blockchain. And aprox. every four years, the rewards they get is reduced by half. Just like the yam-labourers example, this reduction in reward limits supply, creates scarcity and increases the price of Bitcoin. The first Bitcoin halving was in 2012 which peaked the price of Bitcoin from $12 to $1000 one year after the halving. In 2016, the second Bitcoin halving happened and the price of Bitcoin surged from $650 before halving to $19,700 after halving. In 2020, the third Bitcoin halving happened and Bitcoin peaked to $69,000 by 2021. In April this year, 2024, another halving happened and so far, Bitcoin attained a new all-time-high (ATH) price of over $103,000. You notice the pattern now? There is always a massive surge in the price of Bitcoin after every halving event. And when the price of Bitcoin surges, it reflects on the entire crypto market and drives up the prices of other coins (Alt coins) too. The bullrun cycle has two distinct seasons - The Bitcoin season and and the Alt season. I will explain both in the next lesson. Retweet and comment if you want me to share the next lesson.

To bring the best risk adjusted returns onchain, we have partnered with some of the best asset managers in the industry - @MEVCapital, @Re7Capital and @EdgeCapitalMgmt and deploy strategies through our tokenisation infrastructure in @MorphoLabs, @pendle_fi, @eulerfinance and more. Composability has been a key product feature – I have always said publicly that tokenisation has no utility unless the tokens are composable, as these allow use cases such as #mEdge’s integration on @pendle_fi with the subsequent integration of the PT on @MorphoLabs via @gauntlet_xyz (and our users love many more of this kind). Going forward, we will do more of the same – more managers, more chain and more DeFi usecases. We firmly believe in the potential of private credit onchain. In our efforts to tokenise @FasanaraCapital' private credit vehicle, we have closely partnered with @SteakhouseFi and @MorphoLabs to allow users to benefit form the rate differential of the underlying return and the borrow cost in onchain finance. In the next bear market, we expect this product to drive the backbone of DeFi. Soon we will deploy our tokens on @0G_labs, @etherlink,@rootstock_io, @plumenetwork, @solana (@KaminoFinance 😉), @base, @ton_blockchain and more. Increasingly we have also acted as infrastructure providers to other issuers or onchain vaults. In this context, we utilise our expertise in tokenisation to allow third party issuers, projects or asset managers to bring their assets onchain. We think onchain asset management has product market fit and double down on the opportunity with our vault infrastructure. More important than ever is our relentless focus on security. We have engaged @opsek_io for an extensive security audit and have taken substantive effort to secure assets. Our track record and reputation are our most valuable asset – and we treat it accordingly. But above all, our team makes the difference. Our most important asset is – and always will be – our people. Those who know the quote will recognise this is one of @GoldmanSachs' business principles. It might sound cringe in the DeFi context where the focus is on decentralised ledger technology, but is unquestionably true. @MidasRWA stands out with an exceptional team – every member equipped with a unique superpower. @GregFeibus , who is leading our Institutional Sales, has an unparallel rolodex of contacts in the industry. @xivankon, our Head of Growth, is relentlessly focused on brining DeFi TVL with an unmatched energy. @flxstrmmr and @JonasKonstandin deserve the highest praise for leading our finance team. On this note, I am proud to announce that @romainbourgois – our chief product officer – will assume the title and role of co-founder of Midas. Romain is the voice that you need in a team – someone who will challenge or agree when it matters. He has led product development from day 1 and made an exceptional contribution. In that sense, the title change is just a formality – which is something I do not say lightly. I am also proud to announce that @BaptisteCota is joining @MidasRWA as Head of Tokenisation & Risk. Baptiste and I started our careers together at @GoldmanSachs – we sat just a few seats apart for several years. He is not only one of the smartest people I have had the chance to work with, but also brings the humility and a builder’s mindset – both which we value deeply at @MidasRWA. In his role, he will lead risk management across all verticals and work closely with me to bring the next generation of asset managers and assets onchain. Bonus point: he was the first person I ever met who could land a 360 on skis, which I hope we see again on a trip one day. Looking ahead over the long term, the most important factor to our success will be our reputation. I am proud to say that everyone who has worked with us knows that we deliver. We do our best to stay clear of preconceived narratives or rosy views about tokenisation solving the world’s problems – instead, we stay focused on building products that actually work with a solid team. Over the years, I keep getting messages from users that have used our products in the past and now try a new one – these are the moments I truly treasure and hope to see many more of. This is the journey of a lifetime. While each individual day is a grind, I absolutely love the journey of it – there is no greater satisfaction than solving complex challenges day in, day out. When I reflect on our pipeline, I am extremely excited for what the coming months have to offer. Getting past the $100mn threshold gave us a valuable platform – to bring more assets and managers onchain, and scale what we have built. But there is no room for complacency. We are just getting started.
