@pannukki It’s great! You can get a perpetual-ish version on steam (you just have to buy each new one if you want to update). And it’s got some good procedural tools. Painting probably isn’t as robust as 3D coat but it’s still real good. It can also use PS brushes (abr)

@pannukki Oh yeah painting without viewport light is definitely the way to go. What software did you paint yours in? I’ve got 3D coat but I found a Substance Painter tut abt converting B&W to color so I might do that since my brain understands B&W better XP

@SnapdragonBluee Tysm! It took multiple reworks to get the textures where i wanted them, but I found it super helpful to turn off all shading and plug the textures directly into output, then use the colours from his close up turnarounds ❤

@DrawnBen Ayyy fellow poly modeler!! I too find it easier to pull polys around as opposed to sculpting haha- That’s good advice, thank you! I’ve been wanting to tap into projects a bit like this (making my faves in a stylized paint style lol). Gotta develop and eye to pick out shapes o7

I usually just look for a lot of references and then I start!. And I can't really say I sculpt; I do direct modeling. I use sculpting tools to deform the head more easily, but I never do high-poly sculpting. I try to focus on the most important shapes; all the characters have something that strongly identifies them

After finishing RE Requiem, I was inspired again to create characters Modeling Grace Ashcroft! I haven't finished the hair yet. #ResidentEvilRequiem #blender #3D
