@cdngdev QR codes are free. You don’t need to pay for them. If your QR code tool is converting your link to a shortened version, it’s a scam. Always use QR code generators that leave your URL intact.

There is a special place in hell for QR code generator websites that silently replace your link with a redirect through their site, then break it after 10 scans and charge you to $35 reactivate it

My boyfriend's mom made mashed potatoes that tasted like CAKE and now his whole family is mad at me. We're at Sunday dinner, I take a bite, and immediately I'm like ??? why are these sweet? Not a little sweet, like genuinely dessert sweet. I kinda laugh and ask, 'wait are these sweet?' These were russet potatoes, btw, like someone dumped a whole bag of brown sugar in them. I'm 23 and not even from the US, so this was wild to me She says 'yeah that’s how i make them,' and I just say I’ve never had sweet mashed potatoes before. It gets SO awkward, dead quiet. I try to eat them, I really do, but it’s gravy on dessert and my brain just can’t process it. So I stop eating them. She notices and asks 'you don’t like them?' I say 'they’re just a bit sweet for me.' Then my boyfriend jumps in like 'they’re not even sweet' which LIKE they literally are?!

@Inno_Ne @TotallyNotDrex If you do it so often, it should be easy to provide an example or three. As for me, I think my life is pretty typical, my computer activity consists of writing my thesis, programming, video games and browsing the internet. Not a lot of repeadly punching in numbers.

After having used a keyboard without numpad for about a year I've come to the conclusion that they are evil

@SoYeahAboutThat @TotallyNotDrex I like how the gap from the end of the keyboard to the mouse has somehow and pointlessly doubled between the no numpad to the numpad. Fact is, kb/m was made with full keyboards in mind first. It is the default, and rightly so. Small keyboard dudes are all freaks, simple as.

@securityweekly My laptop has this really cool easter egg where it'll boot to a completely black screen with no indication that it's working for like a full 10 seconds on the first boot after a BIOS update.

@panthurrrr @eletricsaberman Good firmware is a must, I'm never buying another keyboard that's not QMK-compatible. Ended up bricking that 60% board trying to rid it of that toggle.

@SoYeahAboutThat @eletricsaberman in fairness i use a wooting which has incredible firmware options but I prefer 60% mostly for the symmetry. you get one whole fully symmetric row of keys compared to zero, and the rest are pseudo symmetric.

@faggotdeer @panthurrrr @eletricsaberman I fw dedicated numpads if you have a good use for one, but I can't say I personally found a single good use for one in the ~15 years I had one on my keyboard.

@panthurrrr @SoYeahAboutThat @eletricsaberman I used to use numpad for buy binds in CS as well as Minecraft mod packs that have tons of binds with many of them overlapping as well as other miscellaneous things. I fw dedicated numpads but still can't deny that 100%s are more convenient for productivity

It can work for like, playing a shooter where I only use left hand and don't move it, not day to day. Again, all this for what? There's no upside. Had a numpad for most of my life, practically never used it

My hobbies are mostly at a computer, my job is at a computer, I spend, and plan to spend a lot of time here. I need to take care of my wrists.
