🤯 Buckle Up... Things Are Getting Spicy! 🥵 I've long predicted the integration of #FAssets into major exchanges, allowing them to earn and forward yield to their customers and now it's confirmed. Tier 1 Exchange @krakenfx partner with @SentoraHQ to make this a reality, utilizing @Firelightfi's "DeFi Insurance" vaults launched on the @FlareNetworks to earn yield for their users! "We are actively exploring how to integrate our insurance protocol Firelight as part of the Kraken Earn vaults." If this does not give you an idea where this is headed then I don't know what will... Let me put it as simple as I can: Exchanges utilizing their (traditionally non yield bearing assets) to earn yield, by minting FAssets, putting them to use on the Flare Network via protocols like Firelight. With the addition of Web2 attestations, Flare can now verify a wider range of event's outside that of a blockchain. Fun fact: Flare was already good at this, this just casts an even wider net. Web2, web3, web8, wtf is this web2 thing, Nick? Think of Web2 as the internet you all know and love. You get your news reports, watch your stock prices, check the score of the game, play the daily wordle. Think of Web3 as anything happening within a blockchain (assuming you know what a blockchain is). Your token swaps, you staking your $FXRP into Firelight, you sending your $FLR to another address. Everything done within this Web3 world is verified. Think of Web2 and Web3 as different worlds in the same solar system. Now, what happens when you want to do something on your Web3 world but that something relies on an event or piece of data in the Web2 world. Let's say this something is simply flipping a switch, you just don't know which way to flip it. You flip it one way and you turn off the lights and kill half your world, flip it the other and the lights are on for another year. There are 8 people on the Web2 world that know which way to flip the switch. Since you'd kill half you're world if you flip the switch the wrong way, you realllllllly want to make sure you're verifying the information on Web2 world before flipping the switch. Picture one person from Web3 world trying to verify this information, but they can call only 2 people with the answer one whole world away. Things get lost in transit, data is corrupted, person 2 could even be purposefully telling you WRONG answer. Point being, you'd want many people from Web3 world calling every possible source from Web2 world for the correct answer. Think of the Flare Data Connector as this large group that is calling every possible source. This group ultimately verifies the correct answer so that it could be used to flip the switch, confidently. This same verification can be applied across a wide range of data. The final score of a football game, the result of an election, the reserves a custodian holds for a given asset. @FlareNetworks is connecting the worlds.
