@SophRayTech @peterrhague Rare earths are not "rare", but rather dispersed in very economically unfeasible traces throughout the earth's crust and beyond. Cheap energy, higher spot prices, and maybe some tech innovation, will hopefully make trace extraction more economically feasible someday.
