This woman was out for a jog with her dog on the Appalachian trail. She pulls out her camera to document a tree that was recently uprooted when she hears a woman’s voice. She quickly recites one of the rules for Appalachia and she immediately makes a run to the car so she can leave. I never knew the rules applied during the day time as well, I always thought that was only for at night, would you have left as well, or just thought it was another person enjoying the trail?

I had a funeral recently in Church. As always, I sat at the back of the church once I had carried in the Coffin. Sitting at the back you see everything that happens and no one can see you. i like that, it suits me fine. There were a couple of hymns and a reasonably full congregation of perhaps 80 people. Clearly, they were not all regular members of the church, and i suspect most were attending because of the person that had passed - which i get. Something that saddened me greatly was the total lack of effort to engage with singing the hymns at all. They all knew the hymns, they were mostly of a certain age to know them. God was still in schools when i went to school and i was t anywhere near the oldest one there. There was no one singing at all. The organist was playing his heart out but not a single soul made any real attempt sing. Why i wonder ? I sang my heart out and in sang a bit louder to try and encourage others to do so. None did. Why don’t people want to sing. a hymn these days i wonder, in a church ? But they will gladly sing a song from a famous pop star or celebrity. Just not a song in the house of god. It really was a sad thing to sit at the back and behold. I never really noticed it this bad before now. It is a spiritual war and i can see people are worn out spiritually. just an observation
