I saw this and thought of @tudor_af
Want to guess where it is? (Hint, not in the UK)
BTW, it has heritage protection

There's a special kind of magic in watching a creator use and explain their own tool. ✨
Currently watching some @LaravelLivewire screencast episodes by @calebporzio. In every episode I learn something new, even in the basic ones.

@dieworkwear What do you think of this?

@benjamincrozat If you want a surer bet as to personal/professional "ROI" I'd suggest trying a smaller more regional conference (~100 attendees) you get a chance to meet almost everyone and they're generally a lot more laid back.

It's hard for me to understand the value of in-person conferences (I'm especially thinking about Laracon). I've never been to any.
The knowledge you get there can be acquired elsewhere.
I don't lack social skills, but I don't personally know anyone and it's hard to sincerely connect when you have to meet so many people. Which makes this completely pointless.
And the kind of money you spend (travel, stay, and ticket) is crazy for potentially no ROI. And for someone like me who **drastically** cut revenue to play a long-term game, it would just be madness.
Right now, and there's nothing wrong with that, I feel like Laracon is just a fancy event for wealthy buddies and others who want to be seen with cool kids just for the sake of it.
If you disagree, I'd love to read rational arguments.
