Sad to hear of Liam Coward’s passing. Though I only met him in the spring, the positivity I felt talking to him will last forever. I took this photo prior to speaking with him bc I felt it summed up a kind, welcoming environment - all things I learned he fought tirelessly for.

On behalf of everyone from Pride Niagara it is with the heaviest hearts we mourn the loss of Liam Coward an incredible LGBTQ2+ activist and friend. Their passion, leadership and devotion to Niagara was formidable and their support unrelenting! ❤️ Rest in Power ❤️

Liam was a bright light in a world that can often be so dark. He was charting a path toward positive, meaningful change and progress for all. For that and so much more, he will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him and even those who didn’t.

Liam worked tirelessly for the betterment of his community. He could be counted on to help anyone who needed it, to advocate on their behalf, and to forever be ready to share a laugh.

1/Today I spoke about 4 year old Hazel and her family, and how they’re navigating the absence of in-school support for her #type1diabetes. Make no mistake, they’re not alone. The health care worker shortage is affecting the education sector now as well.

What Doug Ford has done is inhumane. To force people from an understaffed hospital system into a understaffed long-term care home that they don’t want to be at is cruel and won't address the crisis in our hospitals.
