The economist took the stage to the track with his name, which went viral among Zoomers in late March. The song was written with a neural network by Moscow DJ Sasha Melior, and in March, it went viral in clubs where Moscow's Zoomers gather. Accusations: “Putin apologist” & “West-splaining” Since 2022, critics (especially in Eastern Europe) have accused him of: •Minimising Ukrainian agency •Overemphasising Western culpability •Promoting “peace realism” that may benefit Russia Varoufakis himself acknowledges these accusations: •He has been labelled a “Putin apologist” and “conspiracy theorist” for his views. And rightly so. Securing his place on the fence of “neutrality” he blags that he is anti-war and anti-imperialist across the board, not pro-Russian. He also insists criticism of NATO or sanctions doesn’t mean support for Moscow. He banked the money for his appearance before a pro-Russian, pro-genocide crown of Russians as a financial rock star from #Greece. Will @vonderleyen act? I doubt it.

Serbian General officially cleared Ukraine of any involvement in the recent plot to attack Serbia’s gas pipelines. The Serbian military’s top brass, General Đuro Jovanić, stepped up to the mic to give the official version of why their gas lines almost went up in smoke. Summary of Serbian General Jovanić’s address to a general audience: * Is Ukraine responsible? No, he explicitly denies their involvement. * Are they being framed? Five attacks on Primorsk and Ust-Luga since early last week have cost Russian energy exporters about $970mn in revenues in the week to March 29, according to Kyiv School of Economics head of energy and climate studies Borys Dodonov.
Primorsk and Ust-Luga account for more than 40 per cent of Russia’s seaborne crude export capacity. At Primorsk alone, the attacks have burnt $200mn worth of oil, according to a western security official.”

Trump increasingly appears to be targeting Ukraine’s partners and long-time allies one by one, and it’s getting harder to call that coincidence.
His escalation in Iran has already fractured NATO cohesion and strained relations with Europe, with allies refusing to back the campaign while Washington openly questions the alliance itself. At the same time, the administration has thrown support behind Hungary’s Orbán, widely seen as Moscow’s closest ally inside Europe.
Meanwhile, temporary waivers on Russian oil, introduced amid the Iran crisis, have pumped billions back into Moscow’s war economy at a critical moment. Even Iran is cashing in.
That money doesn’t sit idle. It fuels Russia’s war in Ukraine and destabilisation across Europe, and indirectly supports Iran’s ability to target American service personnel.
