Growing up I realized the majority of my peers didn’t know or care about their own history. It wasn’t their fault, though. The way we were taught history often highlighted the negative aspects of our civilization and painted our heroes in a bad light. It wasn’t a fair treatment of our history, but a purposefully distorted one. That’s why I created this account — to highlight the great figures and events that shaped our civilization. Not with a purposeful bias, but because I truly believe Western civilization has been a shining light on a hill for much of history. It’s not perfect, but humanity has overall benefitted from it. My goal is to show how the West has shaped the world, and I hope by highlighting its greatness, we will continue its long tradition of pursuing the True, Good, and Beautiful. If that sounds like something you’re into, I’d appreciate your follow. We can only carry on the Western tradition if we do it together.

The current pope is claiming that the crusaders and the Popes who called upon them were all wrong and evil. He is claiming that Joan of Arc was evil. He's claiming that the Spanish were evil for spreading Christianity defeating the Aztecs and other vile cults of human sacrifice. He's claiming that King Jan Sobieski should not have led the hussars to save Vienna from the Turks who would have turned the rest of Western Europe into Muslim nations. He's saying the Polish were evil for fighting against the enemies of Christ. He's claiming that The English and the Americans shouldn't have fought the Nazis in World War I because no one who prays for war is good in his eyes. But ultimately, he's saying God is Evil. He's saying the God of Joshua who fought the battles of the Lord is an evil God because clearly he did listen to and favor Joshua. He did listen to and favor David when he slew Goliath, and in his conquests over the Philistines. Over and over again God has favored the righteous against the wicked in battle. But Pope Leo is a more moral person than God so obviously God is wrong and Pope Leo is right in his own mind.

The Pope’s recent rhetoric on Islam has struck a nerve with me as well as many Christians. Despite our differences, Catholics and Protestants (the whole ecclesia) must stand united against the rise of Islam and the threats it poses to our faith, freedoms, and communities.
