Keeping an eye on the pattern in the 6-10 day outlook period. It looks cooler and possibly unsettled. We'll keep an eye out for any systems that could bring in some early-season light snowfalls to the upper elevations during the last 10 days of September.

I'm keeping this handle going though, because Mastodon isn't a full replacement for Twitter. The huge user base here enables real-time reporting and information dissemination that doesn't exist yet there. So I've deleted ~15 years of tweets and will mostly be a lurker now.

Mastodon is like Twitter was (for me), from 2008 through about 2012. The people share all kinds of things I find interesting, the chronological timeline feels right, and I'm not being fed by an algorithm that influences me to spend more time than I want on the platform.

@chiropractic That vibe is present on Mastodon. I've found most people there are willing to engage . . . even the ones with hefty followings. Very much reminds me of early Twitter, where everyone basically had the same status: Early Adopter. A pre-influencer scene, for sure.

I've been on Twitter 15+ years. Back in the day I could tweet influencers of the day and they'd reply. I feel we lost that a long time ago. Maybe it's just me.
