Last night after my recent upload, MOVIE was beaten in under 3 minutes, the record being reclaimed by @StarSpeedruns We are in an era where the Sponge communities may merge back together - for many years, Battle for Bikini Bottom was by far the largest game and one of the biggest speedruns in general. These days, they are all niche, but with lots of room for growth. And you have new generation runners like Star, RedsMSR and Unbones actively competing in two Sponge games at once. Though any% is not the main category in Movie, it's noteworthy that Unbones has been making big moves in the No Pause Storage category as of late. It's unknown what motivations these sponge runners have for the future, but we shall see!

I wasn't originally going to comment on this, but I need to start advocating for myself online at this point. This thread is filled with exaggerations and misinfo even at first glance. The burner account used to post this purposefully distorted the following information: ⭐Star is 17 years old, and has been playing for 5 years. He is a student of the game and an innovator in technologies and methods for making the game play far faster more consistently than before, which I will cover in a video I'm posting soon! ⭐I held the record for exactly 10 years and 10 days before Star dethroned my final run, the 40:37, which stood for 9 months before it was beaten. This was the longest a run had stayed the world record during my time in the scene, a testament to how fast-paced the development of the run has been for the past decade. ⭐Star's run did not occur "the night before" a sub-a-thon. It occurred on June 29, 2026. The sub-a-thon is slated for August, and no formal starting date has been announced as of now. Literally all of my YouTube streams include "Countdown to August" as of late to hype up my community for the upcoming event. ⭐The sub-a-thon is not celebrating how long I held the record for, it is celebrating 10 years of streaming. I've been a full-time streamer for my entire adult life and an amazing community has come to surround me. We do much more than just speedrunning, and most of my audience prefers non-speedrunning streams outright. A lot of online gossipers get their information about my stream from people who either don't watch or intentionally cherry-pick information to fill a narrative. All of this feels even more malicious as of late when I'm making an active effort to edit and upload update videos talking about all of these topics, in condensed and digestible form.
