@MontyGlu Reminds me of the Alphalegion subreddit starting a war between 2 other legion subreddits which turned out to be mostly their own AL members pretending to be on either side. The subreddits really take after their legions.

My Favorite thing about the Warhammer Salamander Subreddit, is that sometimes new reddit folks mistake it for the "Salamander" animal subreddit, and post about their salamanders. And the comments are always like: "VULKAN WOULD LOVE THIS CREATURE." "A FRIEND!" "Good Model!"

@McCm1138392 @HMBohemond In my opinion the removal of weapon choices. Lots of models that get reworked get a lot of their options just flat out removed to force you into using particular weapons. Or you only get 1 when you can field more then 1 in a squad.

@HMBohemond What do you see as the worst gameplay issues for 10th, if you don't mind listing? Curious what other's think.

They're leaning super hard into the classic Space Marine aesthetics going into 11th edition. With this and the focus on the every day battles of the Imperium rather than EPIC HIGH STAKES MARVELIFIED HERO ACTION like with Primarchs, I dare say maybe Games Workshop is actually learning? Pricing needs to be fixed. The current Custodes lore is still like shoving a square peg in a round hole so it's still not canon. And we're still not sure if 11th edition will fix 10th's glaring gameplay issues. They also need to stop using ChatGPT to write their coded lore. But aesthetics and tone are a massive part of Warhammer 40,000 and refocusing on classic Space Marines and every day wars is more what 40k is about rather than the constant one-upsmanship of stakes we saw through late 9th and all of 10th editions. Culminating in a new Tyrannic War that only existed to up the stakes and ultimately not tell a story.

@outcast_107 @HMBohemond Rather side with the money maker side since they at least know that to make money you have to deliver something your audience wants. Something the activists dont seem to understand.

@HMBohemond Tinfoil hat theory. There a mini Civil going on at GW. Both sides sucks. One is the activist. The other side wants to make money. Investors gave activist a chance and when they failed they were ready to pull funding unless things change quickly.

On top of this, the old school Custodian Guard kit and the old resin (male) Shield Captain is still available as well despite the old Dreadnought and tank kits being taken down. Normally, when a new kit releases, the old kits they replace disappear off the online store ahead of the FOMO box pre-order. These are still up.

I think what's telling is only a week after the failure of the Legio Custodes Battle Box, they're releasing all the new kits instead of doing their usual thing and waiting a few months. Ironic this release includes the male only Venatari Custodian kit, and the Dreadnought and tank kits. The things people actually want.

Betrayal, it is not faithful to the OG Marathon games, so people are angry because they feel lied to. People wanted a story-centric focus, and instead got something different. It's like going to a burger joint to get a burger, buying it, and then getting a hot dog instead. You gotta understand how long those guys have been waiting for a continuation. I'm still twiddling me thumbs on the "Myth fallen lords" series from Bungie.

@slushy20954 @Sakerift @CapnKibs The major issue with gambit for a lot of players was that the PvP players didnt care about the PvE part and the PvE players absolutely despised the PvP part. I stopped even humoring playing a match of gambit when it took Bungo months to do something about the thunderking scourge.

@Sakerift @StephanKeevel @CapnKibs That’s true though if you invaded perfectly you could wipe a team but the last time I played the enemy team all chilled together with heavy weapons out during every invasion which is very frustrating

@Chainsword40k Short answer is yes. Long answer is, it isn’t artificial scarcity. GW have such a packed release schedule that they have been behind on printing capacity since roughly Carrion Empire. I remember they also had bats that completely fucked up their expansion.

@ProfessorZackie @WickedWizard15 It's quite clear that resources were taken away from D2 to throw at Marathon. Resources that D2 desperately needed after the years of neglect from bungie towards aspects of the game.

@StephanKeevel @WickedWizard15 Name the comparisons between the two besides: live service, scifi, and its a FPS? Its movement, art style, progression, gameplay loop, gun upgrade system, map design, all differen. Not justifying d2s treatment. But its not fair to the people that worked on marathon
