I don’t remember a single New Year’s Eve from the past 35 years. Not because they were bad. Probably because they all blurred together. Dinners, countdowns, noise, then another year begins. This year felt different. Instead of going out or just sleeping at home, I turned on a camera and live streamed for six hours selling durian. Talking. Laughing. Losing my voice. Watching names pop in and out of the chat while durians moved and conversations flowed. Durian sales were just the visible part. Behind it was a year of rebuilding. Professionally, financially, emotionally. Restarting again after already having chapters I was proud of. Doing unglamorous work. Manual work. Ego checking work. There were days I felt behind. Days I questioned my stamina. Days where being a founder, a father of three, and a provider felt heavier than usual. But somewhere in those six hours, something clicked. For the first time, I wasn’t mindless spending new year eve. I was present and have a clear objective, to end the year with momentum and start the year with momentum. When the fireworks started, I didn’t step away. I ended the year watching them on screen together with my TikTok chat. Strangers, customers, quiet supporters. All sharing the same moment. I know I will never forget 2026 new year. 2025 didn’t make me flashier It made me steadier. I’m walking into 2026 with fewer expectations, clearer priorities, and more respect for the slow build. I also start to respect my own energy and should focus on what I am instead of blindly copying other generator energy. If you’re ending the year tired but still standing, that counts.
