The govt's Student Loan Plan 2 repayment freeze in April 2027 must be reversed. It isn't moral. I'm concerned that my debate with Kemi Badenoch this morning distracts from the most immediate problem. In April 2027 Rachel Reeves will freeze the Plan 2 student loan threshold until 2030 which by then will increase graduate repayments by £300/yr more. This is effectively a unilateral negative breach of the student loan contract. Students were told the threshold would rise with average earnings. No commercial lender would be allowed to do this. The govt shouldn't do it either. Changing the terms of future students loans is a political decision - people may not like it but it is transparent. Negatively changing the terms of contracts already signed, and long in place, is a breach of natural justice.

It's fucking wild we need a dead man's emails to believe the testimonies of 1000 women.

Another day another issue with @virginmedia That makes 4 this year alone. Considering I work from home and rely on a stable internet connection, this is something I feel VM can no longer offer and as soon as I possibly can I will be looking to move to a new provider

After your site said you can’t supply my area (there are several others in my building with VM broadband), I asked for support. They promised it wholeheartedly but delivered nothing. I cat waste anymore time on people who aren’t serious.

And even after contacting @AskVrginMedia with promises galore of support, NOTHING - no call, no help. It seems @virginmedia just don’t want new customers. Time to look elsewhere 🤷‍♂️

Hands up all those who think @BorisJohnson is well placed to lecture anyone else on upholding standards & admitting mistakes.  As I said this morning on @bbcr4today “it’s clear that there is a genuine concern about editorial standards and mistakes. There is also a political campaign by people who want to destroy the organisation…Both things are happening at the same time”
