Yeah… this deal is as good as wrapped. Good to see HoA back reporting major Arsenal news. Newcastle don’t have much leverage now that Bruno has informed them of his intention to leave. He has respected the club enough not to force an Isak-style situation. Now it’s up to Newcastle to show the same respect and let him leave at a reasonable price if they don’t want another Isak saga on their hands. I expect club-to-club talks to begin soon. £75m should get this deal done.

Initial talks on player side take place through intermediaries to avoid approaching a potential selling club for an uninterested player. I’ve never been a fan of Kia Joorabchian. I’ve always felt he wasn’t truly invested in football or his own reputation he simply followed the money wherever it led. His involvement in the signings of David Luiz, Willian, and Cédric only deepened my skepticism, and his work with Everton has hardly improved my view. Jamie Carragher publicly called him out about six years ago for good reason. That said, if he can help deliver Bruno Guimarães to Arsenal, all will be forgiven.

Newcastle not being gracious is a bad look. Why is the onus always on the player to show loyalty? Bruno has been a loyal servant, yet they can’t respect his wishes? He turns 29 in a few months, and this is likely his last chance at a big move to compete for the biggest trophies.

#NUFC should tell Bruno he’s not for sale at any price and to get ready to play this season for Newcastle. He’s signed through 2028 with an option for 2029. They should offer a pay rise, but he’s off limits, especially within the Premier League. Fuck Arsenal; fuck the cartel.

@DeanJamesAFC To be fair, what he reported was that NUFC wouldn’t sell Isak. Which at the time he reported it was probably what they themselves believed. Isak’s actions eventually changed that stance.

Was Luke Edwards not the one that spent ages denying there was anything going on for Issak? The guy just seems to be in complete denial about all of this and is framing things like standard negotiation tactics as being strange and confusing.
