Last week I visited the NIDA Intramural Research Program in Baltimore to see firsthand the cutting-edge clinical trials and addiction research shaping the future of overdose prevention and treatment. Addressing the overdose crisis requires a strong commitment to evidence-based public health strategies and scientific innovation. NIDA’s Intramural Research Program is leading the way by bridging the gap between laboratory research and community-level care. It was great to have leadership from @MDHealthDept and @StopOverdoseMD join us as we continue our whole of government approach to saving lives in Maryland.

The workgroups are focusing on issues such as housing, supporting youth and families, and evaluating the state’s substance use disorder and overdose-related programs. The findings from their work will be summarized in the MORAC's annual report later this year. #StopOverdoseMD

Vaping nicotine can make anxiety, mood swings, and focus worse. Instead of turning to a vape to cope with stress, try one of these healthy ways to feel better. Need help to quit? Call 1-800-QUIT-NOW or text VAPEFREE to 21586. #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth
