@Jolly_Jack I know another cornerstone of this argument is to prevent predators. But in reality this does absolutely nothing against it. Honestly an anti-social toggle adults can enable will do wonders so minors do communication outside of the phone. Except calling and texting of course.

🚨 do you understand what happened to the UK under-16 social media ban.. A viral post is going around with a "confirmed list" of banned apps. There is no confirmed list. The government has not named a single platform yet. - Starmer sets out the plans Monday, but ministers said the actual banned platforms come "at a later date" - the real plan targets functions, not just apps - disappearing messages, livestreaming, chats with adult strangers - the "list" being shared matches Australia's banned apps almost exactly, just relabelled UK - under-18s also get blocked from romantic and sexual AI chatbots after the Grok scandal half the country is mad about a ban that has no apps, no date, and no list
