Outlier just purged a lot of accounts today. I’m seeing reactions everywhere, at first I didn’t want to say anything because of people will say I have come again but needless this is a free space and i can give my opinion based on experience in the space. Americans on Reddit, Africans on X, and others across different platforms all saying the same thing that Outlier had glitch or bug or they’re too strict or they acted unfairly. But let’s be honest for a moment. Most of the accounts affected didn’t follow the rules one way or another. How do I know this, I have worked on this platform for long and I know how they operate to some level. Maybe it’s time to actually read the policies at the outlier footer on the website landing page and understand the NDA for Aether, and go through project guidelines properly before jumping into tasks. Some of you that got caught today either did the following: 1- You logged hours you didn’t fully work that day. 2- Your timer was active without submitting tasks, maybe due to the project scope taking longer to fulfill or error from multimango but there was instruction to pause time when doing all this. 3- You ignored simple instructions like pausing the timer when not productive for the day. Then you blame tools like Multimango, when the rules are clear. I also lost two accounts in this purge, and there’s a chance I won’t get paid for this week on that account. So yes it hurts. But noise won’t fix anything because this isn’t new in outlier. This is a reminder to you all that just joined the platform or experiencing this for the first time that you can’t work 6 hours a day and be productive for 2hours, then expect full pay. Take the lesson, adjust, and move forward. Find another opportunity, follow the rules, and do it right this time. No excuse but growth. Move forward and get another account. Outlier is still on and Aether is still onboarding 🤝.
