@dqrivalsart tbh I'm glad they didn't. 10's makes sense as an MMO but I'm happy with regular DQ being as traditional as possible. Hell, even the switch from round-based for 11HD was a decently big departure.

I REALLY wish they done more on the Free-Form Fighting mode, couldve expanded on DQ10's battle system. Moving the characters for aesthetic isnt enough :/

@droliangray I'll never forget those jank 2016 Bowser dittos that one sesh when I visited, so you are forgiven. Your character, however, is not and never will be.

The only Animal Crossing game I grinded tf out of was the original as a kid. Played every other one and none of them stuck the same way, and it might be because I tried to play every one like I did the OG That is, become the greatest sea fisherman of all time to pay my mortgage.

Aris spoke a LOT of truth in that recent Heat Smash podcast. But one of the things he kept emphasizing was that we’ve lost that magic of playing with other people in person. I’ve been saying this for a while now: Fighting Games are a social genre. They aren’t meant to be played how we’re playing them these days. I know it’s not possible for everyone to go to a local and such, but playing with friends and in person makes the experience so much more enjoyable. I really do think the nature of playing by yourself trying to rank up really saps the joy out of Fighting Games. And I think it’s psychologically draining / damaging. I really do think it’s a major reason why everyone is so negative these days and why it seems like no one is enjoying the game they’re playing. Playing nonstop matches is just not how you should play. I swear losing and having to wait for your turn again is probably the greatest Fighting Game mechanic ever.

At the end of the semester I told him I came to every class and he literally went "Why would you do that?" Guy was a classic early 2010s hipster and very funny, hope he's doing well

One time a professor literally told us we could get away with missing like four or so classes and I still showed up to every one because I was so terrified of missing something important lol

@Beastmode_md @diggles137 Maybe in an alternate universe where Brawl came out as Project+, but not in our current universe. Melee players have been spited too many times, now only Melee scratches that very particular itch. An official Melee 2 could come out tomorrow and Melee would still be thriving.

@diggles137 Yah but if melee 2 came out, or better yet, if brawl kept melees mechanics, there would be no melee community. People who like brawl/brawl mechanics got sequels that build on top of it, melee didnt get that. Melee wanted to leave but stayed cause sakurai hates them

The greatest feeling of superiority Melee has over Ult, is that I'd bet 95% + of Ult's player base would more or less disappear if Smash 6 came out. Brawl died, Sm4sh died, and it'll be a surprise if Ult doesn't. Melee players love their game way more than the average ult player.
