Autonomys is pleased to share that @FryNetworks has integrated Auto Drive, gaining direct access to Autonomys' Distributed Storage Network (DSN) for permanent, tamper-proof, on-chain data storage. 🎉 Fry Networks is building a DePIN where hardware nodes deployed around the world run sensors and execute compute tasks, continuously collecting real-world measurements across multiple sensor categories. With over 9,100 devices currently online, Auto Drive is now the permanent public record layer for that infrastructure. Every hourly data record produced by Fry Networks' global node fleet is written permanently to Autonomys' DSN. Two days after posting this, it's worth adding one more dimension.🤔 The case for permanent, tamper-proof storage isn't just architectural. It's already written into law. The EU AI Act requires providers of high-risk AI systems to retain technical documentation and quality management records for ten years after a system is placed on the market. Separately, automatically generated event logs must be retained for the full operational lifetime of the system. Both requirements demand storage that regulators can access on demand, with no gaps and no modifications. In financial services, the SEC's December 2025 guidance requires broker-dealers to maintain verifiable written policies covering blockchain malfunctions, hard forks, and transfer procedures across multi-year regulatory examination cycles. In healthcare, HIPAA requires audit trails tracking all access to patient records for six years, on storage capable of maintaining data integrity for the entire retention window. The common thread: records that are tamper-proof, permanently accessible, and independently verifiable. Not because a vendor promises to keep them available. Because the architecture makes alteration structurally impossible. When a regulator requests a ten-year-old AI system log, the storage layer has to deliver it with cryptographic proof of integrity, regardless of whether any individual node operator still finds it economically rational to host it. That's exactly what consensus-native storage solves.
