Cool development on the hobby front....my local Dick's Sporting goods is just finishing a large remodel/addition of a sweet hobby section....and it's STACKED with cards of all sorts... including hobby boxes!

NEW: ABC's "Bachelorette" caught on camera allegedly attacking her ex-boyfriend and throwing a chair at him, which appeared to hit her child. The "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives" star is reportedly under investigation for domestic violence. "The Draper City Police Department in Utah [is investigating] the allegations on both sides after a recent incident," Variety recently reported. People have to understand this from a seller standpoint. Vendors are not there to collect. They are there to sell. So if you want a quick and easy sell to them then you know it’s at 70-80%. The seller has to make money. So why would they buy something to sell at the same price?
As for trade, these can be slightly different. If it’s a 1:1 then it’s a little easier. But when someone walks up with 10 slabs and they want one high dollar slab the I would take them at 70-80%. Now the seller has to move 10 items instead of 1. And usually cheaper are less desirable and slower.
Thats why this is normal. If you want 100% sell it yourself on eBay or to another collector.

Pokemon vendors doing the 80% trade value shit is still crazy af to me. So just cause you buy a table at a show, you get this premium of a perk? I don’t get it but the market and the community are okay with is cause I see it at shows and in the YouTube videos. On Sunday, I went to a show here in SoCal. Biggest Charizard I saw was a Gold Star PSA 6 (pic for reference) and dealer stickered it at 5k. I told him I’d make my rounds and I’d come back. Came back towards the end of the show and it was still there. He said he only did Pokemon so of course I show my Zards. He was mostly interested in the Shadow 7 and base 8 and 9. He gave me 80% on my cards and then I’d pay the rest in cash. I said I’ll just offer. I put on my calculator a number I’d do as my starting offer - I put 4000. He told me his number was 4800. I showed him my calculator and I said I’d offer 4400 best and he declined. I can’t make a full switch to Pokemon/TCG cause getting 80% from people who try to trade seems… scummy/scammy albeit everyone accepts it. And I love sports cards too. Still gonna be buying up Charizards though…
