@MidwestGolfJake @StephenRoche100 I think its felt meh because nobody really challenged him - if him and Cam, or Rose, were trading shots down the stretch I'd imagine you'd feel different. I say this, because I feel the same way.

Official grades for the 90th Masters:
Course setup: B-, would have preferred to see it softer Thursday and firmed up throughout the week
Coverage: F- for CBS and ESPN... not showing all the shots, not being able to track a ball... awful
Masters App: A++, my go to throughout the week, had to go to it on Sunday to see what players not named Rory, Cam or Rose were doing
Winner: C, wanted Rose to get it done, Rory repeating is meh, especially shooting E on the weekend
Sunday: C, hard to live up to last year, too many broadcast issues, and nobody close to the lead going low

I guess thats where I differ. I dont think his intent was to humiliate. Ive gotten much worse public admonishing at my jobs, and didnt take it as sorely as golf media here. And thats sorta my point to it all. If this is the worst redirect youve gotten in your profession, youre being seriously babied. Criticism is critical

Scottie tells a reporter his question is awful. Brandel & McGinley on Live From both said this is a bad look.

Should Rory, masters champ, be allowed to visit/play the club he won access to. A private club, run by members who vote on their rules and access to outsiders. Is this the question?

Should Rory have been allowed to have practice rounds at Augusta during the weeks leading up to the Masters? Many are furious about this advantage.

No - his job is golf. Talking to media is a choice not a requirement, remember Morikawa?
Also, even if he was required to answer questions I find it interesting that we suddenly have to pretend the journo asking is always on the mark. Are we not all adults and can withstand some criticism?

Nobody is mad at the reporter for asking a low effort question. The story here is media folk defending the low effort question and making scottie seem like a jerk. Were adults here. Silly question got silly response. Grow up. Move on

No clue what Scottie was thinking here or why he responded this way beyond general disdain of media, but I've decided people's reactions to this are a great way to judge them. If you're mad about a reporter asking a simple, common question that players themselves talk about all the time (how good or bad their score could have been based on their assessment of their play), and sometimes generates an interesting observation or two, you're an idiot. Looking for the grievance weirdos going "CLICKBAIT QUESTION GOOD FOR SCOTTIE" to find the dimwits.

Sometimes theres stupid questions asked, with no effort, that ellicit an answer like what he got. Tbh, Scottie was nicer than what I would have been
